DEAR RESIDENTS:

Zachary N. LitvackOn behalf of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, I would like to invite you to attend the 2009 CNS Annual Meeting, October 24-29 in New Orleans, Louisiana. With new educational formats and an outstanding lineup of featured speakers, the 2009 CNS Annual Meeting will provide unprecedented educational opportunities for you.

Honored Guest, Dr. James T. Rutka, will address our theme, “A Culture of Excellence” and will host the Honored Guest Luncheon Seminar, which is complimentary to a limited number of CNS Resident Member attendees. We also have a complete lineup of engaging speakers, including our Tenth Annual Walter E. Dandy Orator, Walter Isaacson; Terry Orlick, PhD, presenting the CNS Michael L.J. Apuzzo Lecture on Creativity and Innovation; and Louisiana’s Governor Bobby Jindal invited to present the Julian T. Hoff Lecture.

Our exciting social program begins with the CNS Opening Reception, Sunday, October 25. A number of events just for residents are also offered, including the popular CNS Resident SANS Challenge where top resident training programs will compete for a chance to win bragging rights, trophies and a cash prize for their program. Additionally, the annual CNS Resident Recruitment Social will take place on Tuesday, October 27. This is a wonderful opportunity to pursue post-graduate job opportunities and catch up with fellow residents.

We hope you will make every effort to attend the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Annual Meeting in New Orleans. The CNS is again making it easier for residents to attend by offering complimentary housing to the CNS Resident Members at the Annual Meeting (note guidelines on the Resident Housing Application). The first 100 CNS Resident Members to register will receive complimentary registration! As always, registration fees are reduced for all Resident Members.

I look forward to seeing you in New Orleans!

Sincerely,
Zachary N. Litvack, MD
Chair, Resident Committee
