At The Legion of Honor
Join your colleagues from around the globe for an evening of art and camaraderie at the Legion of Honor. This beautiful
Beaux-arts building is a three-quarter-scale adaptation of the 18th-century Palais de la Légion d’Honneur in Paris, overlooking
San Francisco, the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge. Enjoy a lavish array of hors d’oeuvres and beverages while exploring an
impressive 4,000 year-old collection of ancient and European art that includes pieces such as Rodin’s Thinker. Guests
will also have access to the museum’s temporary exhibition, Very Postmortem: Mummies and Medicine.
Tools for Travelers
Climate and Clothing San Francisco enjoys mild weather year-round. October temperatures range from a high of 68 degrees to a low of 54 degrees. Visitors are most comfortable with a light jacket, coat or in a suit. An all-weather coat will take the chill off cool evenings.
Local Transportation The San Francisco Airport is 13 miles from downtown San Francisco and travel can range from 15 minutes to 45 minutes.
The Oakland airport is 19 miles from downtown and travel times can range from 25 minutes to an hour.
Electricity The US uses 110-120 volts AC (60 cycles), compared with 220-240 volts AC (50 cycles) used in most countries in
Europe, Australia and New Zealand. If your small electrical appliances use 220-240 volts, you will need a 110-volt transformer and a
plug adapter with two flat parallel pins to operate them in the United States. Downward converters that change 220-240 volts to 110-120
volts are hard to find in the US
